NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Another hot day is expected Tuesday with temperatures reaching highs in the 90s with RealFeel temps over 100 again.

A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday warned New Yorkers to "take proper safety precautions" amid the "potentially dangerous heat conditions."

The state’s beaches and pools will remain open, with restrictions and cooling centers are open across New York City.

Thunderstorms and gusty winds could roll in towards the evening. Some of the thunderstorms could become severe and pose a risk for damaging wind gusts and localized flash flooding.

Cooler and less humid temperatures are expected by midweek.

Wednesday is slated to be partly sunny and very warm, with a high of 89 degrees, but less humid than Monday and Tuesday.

Thursday is also expected to see a high of 89 degrees, but the humidity will continue to drop.
