Another member of Congress tests positive for coronavirus

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Just hours after Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, a Republican from South Florida, announced Wednesday night that he has tested positive for coronavirus, another member of Congress, Rep. Ben McAdams of Utah, announced he also has tested positive for the potentially-deadly disease.

"Today I learned that I tested positive," McAdams said in a statement. "I am still working for Utahns and pursuing efforts to get Utahns the resources they need as I continue doing my job from home until I know it is safe to end my self-qurantine."

A statement from Diaz-Balart's office said that he began having symptoms Saturday night, including a fever and a headache.

He is working from his Washington, D.C. apartment, his office said.

"I'm feeling much better," he tweeted. "However, it's important that everyone take this seriously and follow @CDCgov guidelines in order to avoid getting sick & mitigate the spread of this virus. We must continue to work together to emerge stronger as a country during these trying times.
