NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez picked up the gavel and became the youngest women in history to preside over the House of Representatives.

"That was my first time presiding. And it's exciting," AOC reportedly told reporters afterwards.

She also posted about the moment on Twitter, writing in part, "Today I presided over the House floor for the first time. Every day here is a sacred privilege + responsibility entrusted to me by my community. I never forget that, and moments like these drive it home."
