NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – FBI agents who are looking into the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal are reportedly taking a closer look at Britain’s Prince Andrew and any involvement he may have had.
Federal investigators have briefed Scotland Yard as they begin to look at any “connection” Prince Andrew may have with the billionaire sex offender, according to the Sunday Times of London.
The news comes as the FBI expands its probe into Epstein in hopes of identifying more potential victims. Some 100 victims are expected to be part of the case.
“The US investigation is focusing on several potential victims in the hope that they can provide more details about Prince Andrew and his connection to the Epstein case,” US Department of Justice sources told the Sunday Times of London. “They are not going to dismiss it [claims relating to Andrew] because he is a royal.”
Queen Elizabeth’s son is accused of having sex with one of Epstein’s alleged victims. Virginia Roberts Giuffre says she was only 17 years old at the time.
Prince Andrew, 59, has flatly denied the accusation and has said that he regrets striking up a friendship with Epstein after the disgraced financier was released from prison in 2010.
Epstein, 66, hanged himself at a Manhattan federal jail last month while awaiting sex trafficking charges.
