NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Security footage captured a brutal attack on a retired NYPD sergeant in Manhattan the New York Post reports.
The incident occurred last Tuesday and video shows the moment a former officer is punched and kicked while on the ground outside of a deli located on West 39th Street in the Garment District.
One suspect wrestles the retired NYPD sergeant to the ground punches him over a dozen times in his head.
Police later identified the suspect as 20-year-old Masterjadin Roman from Canasrise, Brooklyn.
Roman and a second man appear to take the victim's cellphone and headphones.
As a man walking out of the deli attempts to help the former cop, Roman returns to kick the former sergeant in the head.
Police are investigating what sparked the violence.
