NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Robert De Niro doubled down on his dislike of President Trump on cable TV Sunday morning, calling him "crazy" and a "gangster" who has led America to a "terrible situation."

The actor appeared on "Reliable Sources" with Brian Stelter, who asked about his thoughts on the impeachment inquiry launched by Democrats.

"I think they have no choice," the actor said. "This guy should not be president, period."

"And when you say that folks on Fox come after you," Stelter replied. "I remember the Tonys when you got up there and cursed—"

"F--- 'em, f--- 'em," De Niro replied.

Someone off-camera responded, "Whoa, whoa!"

"Sorry!" the actor said.

"This is cable, so it's not an FCC violation, but it is still a Sunday morning," Stelter replied. "I do wonder why you choose to go that way?"

"Let me say something. We are in a moment in this country where this guy is like a gangster. He's come along and said things, done things," De Niro said. "We say over and over and over, 'This is terrible. We're in a terrible situation. We're in a terrible situation.' And this guy keeps going on and on and on without being stopped."

De Niro said he thinks Trump is "not capable of resigning."

"I think part of him is crazy," the actor said. "This is a crazy world. What is going on? This guy is crazy. We've got to get him out."

"When you say crazy, do you mean in a medical sense?" Stelter asked.

"Possibly medically too, I'm starting to think," De Niro said.
