NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Legendary rocker Rod Stewart revealed this weekend that he had been battling prostate cancer for two years, but that he is now in the clear.
"Two years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer," Stewart, 74, told attendees at the Prostate Project and European Tour Foundation fundraiser in England Saturday. "No one knows this, but I thought this was about time I told everybody."
He then gave an update on his condition.
"I'm in the clear now, simply because... I caught it early," he said. "Guys, you've got to really go to the doctor."
Stewart said staying positive was key for him.
"If you're positive, and you work through it and you keep a smile on your face... I mean I've worked two years and just been happy," he said, "and the good Lord looked after me."
Stewart revealed in 2001 that he had previously battled thyroid cancer.
