
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke was shot and killed Wednesday morning in a home invasion robbery, according to reports.
The 20-year-old rapper, whose real name was Bashar Barakah Jackson was in his Hollywood Hills home at approximately 4:30 a.m. when men two men in hoodies and masks broke into the house and fired multiple shots, striking and critically wounding him, according to TMZ.
The report adds that the men were seen fleeing on foot.
An ambulance rushed the victim to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not made any arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
It's unclear if the victim knew his attackers.
Nicki Minaj, who collaborated with Pop Smoke on his hit song "Welcome to the Party," posted on Instagram, "The Bible tells us that jealousy is as cruel as the grave. Unbelievable. Rest In Peace, Pop."
