NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- "Saturday Night Live" has added three new featured players, including the show's first-ever Asian-American cast member, the NBC show announced Thursday. The new season kicks off Sept. 28 with host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Billie Eilish.
"Season 45 Alert," the show tweeted. "Welcome to the cast, @chloefineman, @Shanemgillis, and @bowenyang!"
Asian-American Bowen Yang, who joined the show last season as a staff writer, is one of the new featured players. He made his unofficial debut this past season as North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
Also joining "SNL" are Chloe Fineman, a performer with the Groundlings comedy troupe, as well as comedian Shane Gillis.
The additions to the show comes as Leslie Jones exits after five seasons.
