NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man stabbed a security guard with scissors when he was caught shoplifting at a Marshalls department store in the Bronx, police said.
The shoplifter had taken $110 worth of clothing and stuffed it in a backpack at the Marshalls on W. 225th Street in Marble Hill on the afternoon of Sept. 5, according to police.
When he tried to leave the store with the loot, the 25-year-old security guard confronted him, police said.
That’s when the suspect stabbed the security guard in the arm with a pair of scissors, according to police, who said the suspect fled the store and ran off down Broadway after the attack.
The security guard suffered a minor puncture wound and refused medical attention.
The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect on Thursday.
