SEATTLE (1010 WINS) -- Starbucks is recalling hundreds of thousands of French presses due to concerns that they could break and cause lacerations or puncture wounds.
There have been eight reported incidents in Canada and one in the U.S. in which a French press plunger's knob broke and resulted in injury, CBS News reports.
The presses have a glass beaker with a screen and plunger inside of a dark gray frame and a light gray handle and knob. They were made in Portugal and have the number 011063549 printed on the bottom.
Returns will not be accepted in stores, but customers are advised to stop using the presses and contact Starbucks to find out how they can make a return.
You can reach Starbucks at (888) 843-0245 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. E.T. Monday through Friday or online at www.starbucks.com, and click on "Customer Service" at the bottom of the page and then select "Starbucks" under "Recall Information" for further details.
