Stray bullet wounds Coney Island woman waiting at bus stop

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was shot and wounded by a stray bullet as she stood at a bus stop in Coney Island this week.

Police say the 24-year-old woman was at the bus stop near the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was hit. 

The shot was said to have been fired in an altercation involving several men nearby.

The woman was shot in the leg and transported to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn.
