NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 58-year-old man was slashed on a C train Wednesday afternoon in lower Manhattan, officials said.
Police responded to the Spring Street station in SoHo around 4:30 p.m.
As the train was beginning to leave the Canal Street station, the victim was stabbed in the back of his leg. Police said it appears to be unprovoked.
Police are searching for the suspect, who got off at the next stop, Canal Street, and fled. He is described as a male in his 20s wearing black Adidias pants with a white stripe.
"There are service changes and delays in northbound C and E train service while EMS responds to someone in need of medical assistance at Spring St.," the MTA tweeted.
