Detectives were able to track and arrest Crumpty on Sunday following a Crimestoppers tip, PIX 11 reports.
Officials also recovered a firearm allegedly used during the incident, the report adds.
Crumpty faces attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of loaded firearm charges.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition officials said.
He was later identified in a GoFundMe page as 40-year-old David Altamirano, a father of two who works at a pizza shop in the Financial District.
Altamirano, a 10-year employee at Kesté Pizza & Vino on Gold Street, was shot while he was on his way to work, said the fundraising page set up by the pizzeria.
