LODI, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- An out-of-control SUV careened into an Allstate Insurance store in Lodi on Monday afternoon, injuring at least four people and leaving a vehicle-sized crater in the shop.

The chaos unfolded at Tony Cigna Allstate Insurance around 4 p.m. at a strip mall on Main Street, authorities say.

Witness Hannah Mania said she was traumatized, telling ABC 7 that a man parked into a spot in front of the store before accelerating through the entrance.

"I guess he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and he flew right into the store," Mania said. "I had to dive out of the way, he almost hit me."

Mania said he reversed out of the building and she heard screams from inside that "sounded like a murder scene."

One of the four injured was taken away on a stretcher, according to ABC 7.
