NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Tiger Woods has been dropped from a wrongful-death lawsuit being brought by the parents of an employee as a restaurant owned by the golfer.
Nicholas Immesberger worked as a bartender at The Woods in Jupiter, Fla., owned by Woods and managed by Woods' girlfriend Erica Herman.
He died on Dec. 10, 2018 after crashing his car 20 miles from the restaurant, driving 15 miles over the speed limit with a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.
The 24-year-old Immesberger had had another alcohol-related crash a month before his death and the lawsuit says he was a recovering addict.
The suit claims that Immesberger was over-served for three hours after his shift concluded while the employees knew he was an alcoholic.
The restaurant and Herman remain named in the suit.
Woods could have been liable even if he wasn't at the restaurant that day due to the state alcohol laws.
