Conway died Tuesday morning, in Los Angeles, his representative Howard Bragman told PEOPLE.
Conway had suffered complications from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus but had no signs of dementia or Alzheimer's, PEOPLE reports.
A Golden Globe and Emmy winner, Conway played a number of characters on The Carol Burnett show, where he was known as an on-set prankster.
"Tim's goal in life was to destroy [costar] Harvey Korman," Burnett said.
Conway had his own sitcom, The Tim Conway Show, in 1970, and hosted a variety show from 1980 to 1981.
Conway is survived by his wife, his stepdaughter, six children, and two granddaughters.
