NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – President Trump arrived in New York City on Saturday night ahead of Monday’s 100th annual Veterans Day Parade, which he will open with a speech.
He will make history Monday as the first sitting president to attend the annual event.
The parade always leads to plenty of street closures, but security is expected to be especially tight this year with the president in town. (Full street closures below.)
Trump will address the 100th Annual Opening Ceremony before laying a wreath at the Eternal Light Memorial at Madison Square Park.
Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger will serve as honorary grand marshal and will lead a contingent of Marines up Fifth Avenue after Trump's opening ceremony speech.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. and runs along Fifth Avenue, between 24th and 48th streets.
The parade will form on Broadway, between 23rd and 28th streets, and disperse at 48th street, between Sixth and Madison avenues.
Subway riders looking to attend the parade can take the R, W and 6 lines to 23rd street near Madison Square Park. They can also take the B, D, F and N lines to Bryant Park or the 4, 5, 6, 7 lines or Times Square Shuttle to Grand Central Terminal.
