NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Trump took to Twitter around midnight to slam a report that during the 2016 election he was pushing to have his daughter Ivanka Trump be his vice presidential running mate.
According to The Washington Post, former Trump deputy campaign chair Rick Gates writes in his upcoming book "Wicked Game," out Oct. 13, that Trump suggested the pick to his aides during a discussion.
"I think it should be Ivanka," Gates claims Trump said. "What about Ivanka as my VP? She's bright, she's smart, she's beautiful, and the people would love her!"
And this wasn't just a remark he made in passing -- he brought up the idea several more times, according to the report.
According to the book, the Trump team even polled the idea twice.
Ivanka -- who apparently didn't think being the running mate was a good idea -- did secure a position in the White House, serving as a senior adviser to her father.
