NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Trump announced on Friday that his administration, based on new guidance from the CDC, is encouraging Americans to wear homemade masks or face coverings to prevent the spread of coronavirus but he made one thing clear: He won't be following that guidance.
"It's going to be really a voluntary thing," Trump said during a daily White House briefing. "You can do it. You don't have to do it."
Will he lead by example? "This is voluntary. I don't think I'm going to be doing it," he said. "I'm choosing not to do it, but some people may want to do it, and that's okay ... I just don't want to wear one myself. I don't know, somehow I don't see it for myself."
The new guidelines encourage people to use coverings like T-shirts, bandanas, scarves and non-medical masks.
