WASHINGTON (1010 WINS) -- President Donald Trump was on Twitter publicly supporting students from an all-boys Catholic prep school in Kentucky.

The boys were caught on video in a confrontation with native American activist Nathan Phillips on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

"Looking like Nick Sandman & Covington Catholic students were treated unfairly with early judgements proving out to be false - smeared by media. Not good, but making big comeback!" Trump tweeted.

Phillips told ABC News he still believes he is the victim, and said Sandman and his fellow students were chanting 'build the wall.' So far there is no evidence to support those claims.

Philips has offered to travel to Covington Catholic High School to engage in a dialogue about diverse cultures.

Parents who chaperoned the students are defending the teenagers, saying they remained calm as taunts were hurled at them.

School officials say some of the students have now received death threats, and security has been stepped up at the school.

Twitter has since suspended the account @2020fight which helped to spread the video with the caption,  "This MAGA loser gleefully bothering a Native American protester at the Indigenous Peoples March."
