NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – President Donald Trump mocked CNN anchor Chris Cuomo at the United Nations Monday, calling him "Fredo," referring to the much-maligned, weak-willed and less intelligent Corleone brother in "The Godfather" series.
In the same remarks, Trump complimented Rudy Giuliani, who spoke with Cuomo last week.
"I watched Rudy take apart Fredo," Trump said. "Fredo's performance was incompetent, Rudy took him apart."
"Rudy Giuliani took Fredo to the cleaners," he added.
Fredo is the object of scorn of Corleone family mob boss Micheal in "The Godfather" for his ability to be manipulated, and is eventually killed on his brother's orders for betraying the family.
Cuomo had an altercation caught on video in August after a man called him "Fredo" in public.
Cuomo asserted the term was a slur against Italian Americans.
In the interview last week, Giuliani said Cuomo was a "sellout" and an "enemy" when answering questions about whether he asked the Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
