NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – President Donald Trump called Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez "a real beauty" who "knows nothing about the economy."
Trump attacked the congresswoman, who represents parts of Queens and the Bronx, during a speech at a Whirlpool manufacturing plant in Clyde, Ohio on Thursday.
The president claimed "a radical left-wing movement" wanted to "inflict a socialist takeover of the US economy known as the horrendous Green New Deal."
Trump said the environmental plan was "conceived by a young woman, AOC."
"AOC that's a real beauty, isn't it?" Trump said. "She knows as much about the environment—Do we have any young children here?—as that young child over there. I think he knows more. And she certainly knows nothing about the economy," he said.
The congresswoman didn't appear to have responded to Trump's comments as of Friday morning, although she did retweet a post from political analyst Zerlina Maxwell saying of AOC, "She has a degree in economics."
