NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – TSA officers discovered a Queens man attempting to conceal a handgun inside a DVD player in a checked in bag at John F. Kennedy Airport on Thursday, police say.
According to reports, the suitcase carrying the gun triggered an alarm as it passed through a luggage scanner, alerting officers.
Once the bag was inspected, TSA say they were able to quickly find the weapon wrapped in tinfoil inside a hollowed-out DVD player.“I can assure you that wrapping it in aluminum foil and then concealing it inside a DVD player isn't the way to go about it.” tweeted TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein.
