NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two men beat and robbed a Queens man of $10,000 in a daytime attack that left the victim with a broken nose, police said.
The 23-year-old man was walking into the building on 40th Street, near 47th Avenue in Sunnyside, on the afternoon of July 30 when the two men followed him inside.
Police said the suspects punched and kicked the man repeatedly then stole his cell phone, house keys, a shirt and a bag that had $10,000 in it.
The men took off southbound down 40th Street, police said. The victim was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital-Queens, where he was treated for a fractured nose.
The NYPD released surveillance video showing the suspects entering the building and leaving with the bag. They didn't say if they believe the men somehow knew the victim had $10,000 on him.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
