WATCH: 'The Hills' alum Lo Bosworth on the show's reboot, 'ugly' vegetables, cooking tips

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Sorry "Hills" fans, Lo Bosworth will not be making an appearance on the upcoming reboot

The MTV hit reality show "The Hills" may be returning to TV, but Lo Bosworth is not.

"I'm honestly excited for it to come back," Bosworth told 1010 WINS' Kyle McMorrow. "It didn't make sense for me personally at this moment in my life to participate."

The show, dubbed "New Beginnings," will return a few familiar faces, including Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, and Spencer Pratt, but Bosworth says "reality" TV is not for her anymore.

"Everybody knows how reality TV works now, and you're not really in charge of your own narrative," she said. "A director chooses for you. Or someone at the TV network chooses for you and I'm all about positively and so I wasn't willing to give the keys of the kingdom over to somebody else at this point in my life."

Bosworth has moved on from the cameras to running her own business "Love Wellness." She is also a spokesperson for Bolthouse Farms, a company encouraging people to eat their "ugly vegetables".

"It's stuff that's not the most beautiful," she explained. "Maybe it's misshapen. Maybe it's a little discolored. Maybe it's slightly bruised. But it doesn't mean there's anything with the produce."

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates the average American family of four throws away roughly $1,600 worth of food a year, most of which is discarded because it is either unattractive or not used in time.

Bosworth graduated from New York's International Culinary Center and says if you do run a across produce that is "ugly," just get creative.

"Turn it into a soup," she suggested. "Turn it into a sauce. Cut it up and put it into a salad. Just use it in a different way."

Watch the video above to hear more of Bosworth's cooking tips and to see if she still keeps in contact with her former castmates!
