NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The trailer for "Judy" -- the upcoming biopic starring Renee Zellweger as screen legend Judy Garland -- was released Friday, lighting up the Twittersphere to the point that Garland, who died in 1969 from an accidental overdose at 47, was trending.
The film -- which follows the final days of the late actress -- arrives in theaters on Sept. 27.
During the trailer, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" plays, as Zellweger's Garland arrives in London for a series of sold-out concerts. It takes place 30 years after "Wizard of the Oz."
"It was such a joy learning about the magnificence of this person," Zellweger told People. "I always admired her. She was so quick and so funny. She could hit the ball back with the best of them."
And director Rupert Goold said in a statement released with the trailer, "I made it clear to Renee that I wasn't looking for an impersonation of Judy Garland's inimitable voice, but what I wanted was for Renée to make the songs her own. And this she did to thrilling effect."
The film also features Finn Wittrock as Mickey Deans, Garland's fifth and last husband.
