NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A West Virginia high school principal admitted that he accidentally plagiarized a speech Ashton Kutcher gave in 2013.

Parkersburg High School Principal Kenny DeMoss addressed the speech to his school's graduating class on May 23.

The News and Sentinel report DeMoss issued a statement in which he says he said he should have cited his sources but that his "thoughts and ideas" were his.

A video on Facebook posted by a Parkersburg grad meshed DeMoss's speech with Kutcher's speech from the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

The post has garnered more than 100,000 views.

The speeches include some of the same exact word choices and similar phrasing.

Wood County Schools Superintendent Will Hosaflook says the matter is under investigation.
