Westchester has 3,891 positive cases of the virus as of Tuesday, including 997 new cases, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.

The county is only behind New York City in number of cases; the five boroughs have 14,904 cases.

A total of 17,966 people have been tested in Westchester; 3,282 people were newly tested as of Tuesday.

Here are the municipalities with the most cases, according to Latimer (numbers won't reflect county total):

  • New Rochelle: 225 cases
  • Yonkers: 191 cases
  • Town of Greenburgh: 115 cases
  • Mount Vernon: 81 cases
  • White Plains: 65 cases
  • Port Chester: 45 cases
  • Scarsdale: 38 cases
  • Town of Eastchester: 51 cases
  • Ossining Village: 35 cases
  • Mt. Pleasant: 30 cases
  • Yorktown: 30 cases

Latimer said the high number of cases in New Rochelle likely has to do with a surge in testing there, as it was the first epicenter of the outbreak in the state. He said this explains why it has more confirmed cases than Yonkers, even though Yonkers has a population three times as large.

Latimer said Buchanan is the only municipality in Westchester with no reported cases.
