NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Whitney Houston died in 2012 but that doesn't mean a Whitney Houston worldwide tour is out of the question.
Wait, what?
OK, here's the scoop: A new hologram tour that will feature a digitized version of Houston, who died at age 48, will kick off next year. It will also include a live band and back-up singers and dancers.
The hologram will perform “digitally remastered arrangements of Houston’s classic songs," according to Billboard.
This isn't the first time Houston has gotten the hologram treatment: Christina Aguilera sang a duet with a Houston hologram on the season finale of "The Voice."
“Whitney Houston was a talent beyond words, and her influence and artistry transcended all boundaries,” Brian Becker, the CEO of BASE Hologram, said in a statement. “What we are creating here is a new type of theatrical concert experience designed to capture that magic. When she performed there was an unmatched level of charisma and emotion to it — that’s what we are going to bring to audiences and it’s an honor to be able to help add to her legacy with this project.”
"An Evening with Whitney" will begin in Mexico on Jan. 23 and then head to Europe in late February.
In Europe, the tour will stop in England, Switzerland, Germany and Russia before ending in Belarus on April 3.
The tour is expected to arrive in North America in the fall of 2020.
