LONDON (1010 WINS) -- There's been speculation for years that the Ecuadorian embassy in London would throw Julian Assange into the streets.

He's been holed up in the embassy since 2012, to avoid extradition to Sweden where he's charged with sexual assault.

Now, Assange's WikiLeaks is tweeting that Assange really is about to get the boot, and that he'll be expelled within hours or days.

President Lenin Moreno of Ecuador has accused Assange of violating the terms of his asylum -- supposedly by circulating private pictures taken inside the embassy. WikiLeaks claims that Moreno is upset because of its reporting on papers indicating that Moreno got rich through off shore accounts in Panama. Moreno denies the allegations.

Media have been assembling outside of the embassy since shortly after the tweets were posted.

Ecuador's foreign ministry initially said it would not comment on 'rumors, theories or conjectures.' A senior official later told the Associated Press that no decision had been taken.
