LOS ANGELES (1010 WINS) -- An investigation by ESPN's 'Outside the Lines' found that a Dodger fan died last August as a direct result of being hit in the head by a foul ball.

No media outlet reported it at the time, and the Dodgers did not release a statement.
Linda Goldbloom was a 79-year-old mother and grandmother.
When contacted by ESPN, the team noted that she was a great fan and they were saddened by her death. The Dodgers also said the matter between the team and the family had been resolved.
The team does have extended netting at Dodger Stadium designed to protect fans from just such an occurrence. Goldbloom's seat was in the Loge level, just above the netting.
