NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman was shoved onto subway tracks in Brooklyn in an unprovoked attack, police say.
This is the latest in a series of assaults on people in the subway.
Officials say at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, the 28-year-old victim was waiting for the Manhattan-bound 5 train at the President Street and Nostrand Avenue station in Crown Heights when a man came from behind and shoved her, causing her to fall onto the train tracks.
The victim was able to safely make it back onto the platform although it is unclear how or if there was anyone else around at the time. She was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, suffering a laceration to the left shin, cuts to the chin and swelling to her left foot, police said.
The attacker fled after the assault, and police do not have a description of the man.
