AVONDALE, Ariz. (1010 WINS) – Police say a woman tried to set her boyfriend on fire because he didn't want to celebrate her new job at a Subway restaurant.
Kathy Jones told police that she had a couple bottles of Smirnoff Ice and two "strong" rum drinks around the time her boyfriend wouldn't celebrate her new job at the sub sandwich shop, KPNX in Arizona reports.
The 46-year-old then went into a rage, spraying her boyfriend with lighter fluid and throwing lit matches at him, court documents allege.
The boyfriend was able to lock her outside their home until police arrived.
Jones was charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage; the latter charge was for damaging a doorframe of the home while she was locked outside, police say.
She was held on $15,000 bond.
The boyfriend wasn't injured.
