The caravan of yellow taxis put a stop to traffic for several minutes at around 12:40 p.m. on the Manhattan-bound side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

The demonstration comes just days after the Wall Street Journal reported that Marblegate, the company which owns 4,000 of the city’s 13,500 medallions offered to reduce driver debts to $300,000.

"And now we’ve SHUT DOWN the Queensboro Bridge! Yellow cab drivers have been betrayed by the city and bilked by lenders. Over 80 percent now face food insecurity," The New York Taxi Workers union posted on Twitter.

"This is a crisis. We need relief now. That’s why we SHUT IT DOWN."
