NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Grammy Awards, scheduled for Jan. 31, have been postponed due to the pandemic, a Recording Academy representative confirmed to Variety Tuesday afternoon.

The Academy had yet to provide a new date or elaborate further, but Rolling Stone, citing sources, reported that the hope is to reschedule the awards ceremony for March.

1010 WINS has reached out to the Academy for additional comment.

The Academy had already planned on a show with no audience. It also was planning to only allow presenters and performers on-site. Even nominated artists were not expected to be on-site.

Beyoncé leads the pack with nine nominations, while Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and Roddy Ricch followed behind with six nominations each.

The show, to be broadcast on CBS, was to be hosted by Trevor Noah. It is unclear if he will still host.
