NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – David Letterman will be returning to CBS’ ‘The Late Show’ for the first time in eight and a half years, the show announced Thursday.

Letterman, who spent nearly 22 years at the Ed Sullivan Theater as host of ‘The Late Show,’ will be joining his successor, Stephen Colbert, for a sit-down interview Monday, Nov. 20 at 11:35 EST.

‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ premiered in August 1993 after Letterman very publicly left NBC, and it ran until Letterman’s final episode in May 2015. Stephen Colbert, the personality formerly from the ‘Colbert Report,’ has been hosting the show since.

After leaving CBS, Letterman has been hosting his Netflix talk show series, ‘My Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman,’ since 2018.
