In a photo posted to Twitter, Trebek’s wife, Jean, and his children, Matt, Emily and Nicky, posed alongside a new bronze plaque at the show’s studio, reading, “The Alex Trebek Stage.”

The iconic quiz show is filmed at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California. The stage was formerly known as “Stage 10.”

According to a press release from “Jeopardy!,” the show’s producers held a dedication ceremony for the stage on the first day of taping for Season 38.

Trebek died of pancreatic cancer in November 2020 at the age of 80. He had hosted more than 8,200 episodes of the iconic game show before his death.

The show circulated through a series of guest hosts following Trebek’s death before selecting Mike Richards as the permanent host in early August.

However, shortly after the decision was made, Richards stepped down from the position – and as executive producer – over a number of controversial comments he made in the past regarding women and other marginalized groups.

"Jeopardy!" returned to the air on Monday. The first five episodes feature Richards as host.

The show is still searching for a permanent host but, has selected “Big Bang Theory” actress Mayim Bialik to be the first guest host to fill in for Richards. She will host for at least three weeks, from Sept. 20 to Oct. 8.

Bialik has already been named the host of “Jeopardy!” primetime specials and spin-offs.
