NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- This weekend, the second season of the Emmy-nominated anthology series Modern Love is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Based on The New York Times’ weekly column of the same name, the series retells various love stories from all over the world.

Even though the show highlights relationships between people, in a recent interview, some of its stars did not hold back from professing their own love for the iconic New York news station 1010 WINS.

“We’re big fans!” Andrew Rannells exclaimed, sitting alongside fellow actors Zane Pais and Marquis Rodriguez. Fittingly enough, the three were actually discussing both the show and the episode that they all worked on together to WINS, in an exclusive interview.

“[I’m a] big 1010 WINS fan, [especially] when I’m driving, you know, and I need to get the scoop," actor Zane Pais also admitted.

Now, as if the expression on their faces didn’t already affirm their excitement, Rannells went on to explain that their episode originally, “had a 1010 WINS shoutout, but it got taken out.”

While most known for his roles in front of the camera, for the first time ever, here Rannells is behind the camera. Not only is his episode his directorial debut, but it’s also based on his own contribution to the column from 2017.

The episode, titled “How Do You Remember Me?”, revolves around two past lovers who see each other years later on a NYC sidewalk. However, as the two slowly cross paths, the audience is shown how differently each person remembers the events of their relationship - and the memories aren't all good. Rodriguez and Pais star.

Gesturing to the two, Rannells explained that in the episode, “When these guys are in the back of the cab in [the character] Robbie’s memory, they were [originally] listening to 1010 WINS.”

Despite having so much creative control over the project, Rannells said, “that very specific 1010 WINS reference in this episode...had to [be removed] for legal reasons.”

Although it's unfortunate the station couldn't have a cameo, it’s almost ironic, considering that Rannells' episode is actually about missed connections.

Nevertheless, Rannells says he’s still excited for people to see his work. “We filmed this about a year ago,” he told WINS, “I’m just thrilled to finally have it out there.”

When asked what the guys hoped viewers would take away from the episode, Pais simply replied, “People can remember things differently.”

“Your experience will never be the universal experience,” Rodriguez added.

Rannells concluded the interview by saying he hopes the show is, "oddly relatable," because in the city that never sleeps almost everything is.
