NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Pepsi announced it would release a new "Cocoa" Cola soda in early 2021 after receiving enough retweets to push the product into production.

Weeks earlier, the company unveiled its Apple Pie flavor for Thanksgiving but said it would only roll out its new "Cocoa with Marshmallows" flavor once its announcement on Twitter reaches 2,021 retweets in honor of the new year.

"What’s sweeter than saying “bye” to the worst year ever? Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola - the latest concept from the Pepsi Test Kitchen. Want to try and get your hands on it? 2,021 RTs and we’ll make a batch," it announced on Twitter.

The tweet surpassed its 2,021 goal by more than double with over 4,400 retweets.

"Well, it looks like you’re all pretty thirsty for some Pepsi “Cocoa” Cola. Stay tuned for details coming in 2021!"
