WEST HILLS, N.Y. (AP) -- A landscaper fell from a tree and a roofer fell from a building in two separate fatal workplace accidents Monday on Long Island.
Suffolk County Police say 51-year-old Vicente Oliver of Levittown was trimming a tree at a West Hills home Monday morning when a branch broke. He fell about 40 feet to his death.
Monday afternoon, also in Suffolk County, 27-year-old Hector Aranda-Sanchez fell from the roof of a business in Holbrook. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating both incidents.
