1010 WINS has always been a part of Kevin's life. Born in the Bronx and raised in Newark, Kevin is a first-generation American of Venezuelan and Portuguese descent that learned to speak English by listening to the radio station. Listening to the radio station also instilled a desire to be a journalist. While studying at Quinnipiac University, Kevin accepted an internship in the 1010 WINS newsroom. It was where he was taught the fundamentals that would guide him along his journalism career.
As he was working on completing his degree in journalism with a minor in fine arts, Kevin worked as an overnight anchor at WTIC. Kevin went on to work as a morning reporter and anchor in Jacksonville, Florida. He helped to launch two all-news formats, one for CBS Radio in Washington, DC, and another on SiriusXM for FOX News. Along with covering general news, he has covered Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court and has been a political reporter focusing on the 2016 election from start to finish. He worked as a freelance reporter and anchor at 1010 WINS and WCBS 880. Most recently, Kevin worked as a general assignment reporter for CBS New York, covering the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple elections, and severe weather.
