Mom threatens to 'shoot the whole place up' of NJ school: police

UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) – A New Jersey mom, who is a parent of a student at Jefferson elementary school, was arrested Tuesday after threatening to “shoot the whole place up” during a phone call with the principal, according to police.

The police received a call around 1:30 p.m. from the Jefferson Elementary School principal reporting that the Union County woman made threats on the phone, the department said in a statement.

Students were told to stay in classrooms and the school was immediately put on lockdown as officers were sent to the scene.

Officers located the parent while she was returning home and she was arrested.

She was charged with making terroristic threats and was sent to the county jail.

The parent was not identified by the police.
