NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Five people were shot in Newark late Monday night, including an 18-year-old man who died of his injuries, police said.
The shooting happened at about 11:40 p.m. at 367 6th Ave., near North 13th Street.
Brandyn Waters, an 18-year-old from Paterson, was shot in the chest. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The other victims include two 19-year-old men, a 24-year-old and a 26-year-old, police said.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, and police did not release information regarding a suspect.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
