2.6 aftershock rattles New Jersey weeks after major earthquake

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A 2.6 magnitude aftershock hit New Jersey early Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The aftershock struck around 7 a.m. with its epicenter located in Gladstone, Somerset County.

A previous aftershock hit the same location just this past Saturday in Gladstone, registering at a magnitude of 2.8.

Since the initial 4.8 magnitude earthquake which was felt across New Jersey and New York after it struck White House Station last month, New Jersey has experienced over 150 aftershocks, according to the USGS.
