2 arrested after NJ church vandalized with 'defenstrate babies'

LOWER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Two Jersey Shore residents were arrested on Tuesday after police said they spray-painted "defenstrate babies" and "HAIL with a star" on a church's signboard.

It happened on a sign for the parish of St. John Neumann on Bayshore Road in Lower Township, police told NJ.com.

On July 9, police received a report about the vandalism spray-painted in reddish-pink and an investigation was launched.

The 36-year-old woman and the 33-year-old man from the township's Villas section were charged with criminal mischief, issued summonses and were released, according to police.
