NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) —Two men from New Jersey have been arrested on Wednesday for impersonating police officers during a slew of robberies that lasted 11 days, according to prosecutors.

Shanndoah Gray, 48, of Lindenwold, and Michael Ficara, 39, of Mount Royal, are facing multiple counts of robbery, impersonating a police officer, among other charges.

The robberies spread across Gloucester Township, Lindenwold, Winslow, Deptford Township, and Washington Township, Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

The spree began on Sept. 19 when Gray and Ficara, driving a red sedan, allegedly pulled over a motorist on Little Gloucester Road in Gloucester Township.

They identified themselves as police officers and then physically assaulted and robbed the driver, prosecutors said.

On the morning of Sept. 28, Gray and Ficara allegedly tried to stop another car in Winslow. The driver stopped and was falsely accused of a robbery.

When the victim demanded a marked police unit's presence, Gray and Ficara fled the scene.

Later that same day, behind the Kohl's Plaza in Washington Township, the pair, using their cars' high beams and displaying a badge, attempted to stop a parked car.

The drivers did not stop and drove away, authorities said.

Surveillance footage from the scene later identified the impersonators' car as a red Ford Taurus, which was traced back to Ficara.

Later on they continued and reportedly robbed a car with no driver stealing a wallet containing credit cards.

Less than two hours later in Deptford, they purportedly tried to question a driver in Almonesson Creek Park. The victim didn't believe them and called 911.

The last incident happened in Lindenwold when the impersonators approached two men and pretended to search them as cops but robbed them throughout. The victims confronted them about their stolen things but the impersonator displayed a small gun.

The suspects then escaped in a red sedan sporting a Pennsylvania license plate and emergency light on its roof.

Detectives from the Washington Township Police Department obtained footage of the suspects trying to use a stolen credit card at a local grocery store, ultimately leading to their identification and later arrest.
