
HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Two people were killed Thursday in a small plane crash in New Jersey, authorities said.

NJ.com reported that emergency crews found the single-engine airplane in the afternoon in a wooded area in Sussex County, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Trooper Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, told NJ.com two people died.
The plane departed from Essex County Airport in Caldwell and was headed to Sussex Airport when the FAA alerted public safety agencies to look for the missing plane around 3 p.m., according to the agency.
The identities of the victims was not released. The FAA and NTSB said it would investigate the crash.
