
NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A shooting broke out at a party on Long Island on Friday night, killing a 19-year-old and hospitalizing a 17-year-old, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
The shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. at 1320 Ackerson Blvd. in Bay Shore during an outdoor party with about 50 people in attendance, authorities said.
The incident left Sean Mills, 19, dead. Mills, of Bay Shore, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced.
An unidentified 17-year-old girl was also shot, officials said. She was also transported to a local hospital where she is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, nor is it known if police have any suspects.
The investigation by the Suffolk County police Homicide Squad is underway.
