NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) — Two women were critically injured Wednesday when a car involved in a chain reaction crash struck them and smashed into a Newark high school.
Officers responded at 10:39 a.m. to Arts High School on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard after Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said that at a two-car crash sent one vehicle into a wall of the school.
Two women were struck, and they were transported to University Hospital for treatment, police said. The victims, whose ages were not immediately known, are in critical condition.
It is unclear if the victims are a part of the school community.
Both drivers are in stable condition.
An investigation is ongoing.
